3 Diets to Whip You Into Shape

If you're reading this article shortly after it was published you'll know that you have just over a month to whip your body into shape by Christmas.
Now some dieticians may argue this is not feasible or safe but that depends on how much you'd like to lose.
A safe and advisable weight loss figure would be at a max - 14lbs - that's 2lbs per week till Christmas.
Here's the first diet that may fit the bill.

1. Dukan Diet
You'd better like meat because this is a low calorie high protein based diet based on lean meats.
The idea is that you fuel yourself with sustainable energy but consume a lower calorie count than your actual BMI requires.
Ingredients and dishes include steamed fish, grilled chicken breast with herbs, low fat cottage cheese, tea or coffee without sugar, oat bran muffins, oat bran chicken nuggets, peppered steak, low fat yoghurt with oat bran and warm drinks with sweetened or skimmed milk.
Favored by Kate the Duchess of Cambridge prior to her wedding, it's based on 100 plus foods over 4 specific phases.

2. Atkins Diet
The Atkins diet makes the bold claim that you can lose as much as 15lbs in just 2 weeks.
Now this is extreme however the diet is long term and follows 4 steps:
1. Induction
2. Ongoing weight loss
3. Pre-maintenance
4. Lifetime maintenance
The focus is on limiting carbohydrate consumption which then switches the body's metabolism to choose glucose as a means of making energy forcing your body to then burn fat stores.
All sugars and starchy foods are excluded, but protein and fat like meat and eggs are endorsed.
Typical dishes include boiled eggs, bacon, chicken breast topped with melted mozzarella, pan-fried steak with spinach and sour cream, mixed lettuce leaves with some olive oil.

3. Gluten Free Diet
Gluten can cause some people to bloat quite dramatically making this protein found in wheat which is used to make pasta, pastries, beer, cakes, sauces and dressings - dangerous to certain body types.
This doesn't necessarily mean food with gluten is bad for you - take example whole grain rice, or that all gluten-free foods are good for you - there are plenty of sweet laden desserts, however there is a healthy way to go gluten free and lose weight effectively.
A typical days diet may include whole foods, lean protein, gluten free hot dogs, steamed cauliflower, broccoli and beans followed by oven fries, green beans and fruit salad.

Bottom line:
