Nowadays it seems that everywhere we look there is a new weight loss supplement or diet pill that promises the world when it comes to losing weight.  For the majority of people though, they will see little or no results.
If you think about it how many people do you actually know that take weight loss supplements on a regular basis?  For many people taking weight loss supplements is a random thing.  Most will try a supplement and when it doesn't work move on the next weight loss fad.  The problem is that people are not viewing weight loss supplements as they are really are – supplementation.  Most people seem to think that these supplements will do all the work on their own with no help or input from the user.

There are definitely supplements out there that work but these same supplements are absolutely useless if you do not have an effective weight loss plan.  The sad fact is weight loss supplement companies know that the chances of you exercising and making sure you have the correct diet are quite low and that is the reason you always see "when used in conjunction with a proper diet and exercise programme" at the bottom of the advert.
You need to remember the key word is "supplement" as in supplement to what you are already doing.  The majority of people don't do anything else and use weight loss supplements as their primary source of weight loss.

The next time you find yourself in that particular aisle or internet store, thinking about buying the latest greatest weight loss supplement, remember to analyse the weight loss plan you have already put in motion and use this as your primary source of weight loss instead of the weight loss supplements you are planning to buy.

It is a well known fact that losing weight can make dramatic improvements to your physical as well as emotional health.  It can also be a slow process which is why so many adults turn to weight loss supplements.  Most weight loss experts do not recommend many products that are marketed as weight loss supplements simply due to a lack of evidence.

There are some proven weight loss supplements available and I have listed below six products you can buy at most health food stores that have some weight loss evidence behind them.

•    Fiber
•    Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA)
•    Green tea extract
•    Meal replacements
•    Orlistat, an over-the-counter weight loss drug

You should always consult your doctor before you take any kind of weight loss supplements as even the ones listed above can have side effects and could also interfere with any medications you are taking already.  Ultimately when it comes to weight loss there is no quick fix.  A healthy diet and regular physical exercise should be the foundation to any weight loss program.
